Colombia Presentation

Here is the Colombia Inquiry group presenting their findings.  Also the presentation that they used during their oral presentation and the rubic marking sheet for their group.

 

cultural day

On friday we had a cultural day. We had a dance to show to the school. First went room 7 then after that it went us, then after that it was room 6’s turn. We went to go sit down and watch them and when they finished we all went back to our classroom and get our bags. Miss G told us we did good. Room 7 studied Greece, U.K., Italy, Spain and Germany. Our groups were Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Colombia.  Room 6 studied Japan, China, Thailand and India.

I have done really well with my typing this year.  My score at the beginning of the year was twelve.  I am very proud.

Touch Training

After morning tea we are going to Touch training on the Courts. We will have to sit on the ground and the coach will tell us how to play then he will put us in groups. He will put the shirts on us then he will put the group into colours. He will tell us to go to the team who wears the same colour as us.

After that we will go and verse the next team then we will move on and on to the next team until there is a winner.

We will practice to step and catch the ball then we will have to practice running and kicking and the rules like not pulling Shirts.

On a lovely morning we went to the Hoyts and went in the movies then we went to seat in the movies seats and then it started to come on.  We laughed at the movies then some of our students were nervous in front of all the people and there were 3000 students at the movies. We watched the other schools movies then we started to cheer. We loved their movies and it was fun. After that we went to the bus then we went back to School and we had our lunch.

who inspires me? - EASY E

I like Easy-E because I'm in to rappers and I know about them and also he is my Favourite rapper. I like the words what he sings and I like the hats that he wears he has a lot of hats.

At the back of their is landed their is a man at the back of her he Is. porting this thing on her herd and she is getting freaked out and the man is laughing at her but shes is not Launching. and hem and he is trying to make her hair messy every way and she has goggles on her Eyes. and she looks kind of happy to me but hes not happy and she looks crazy and the man at the back of her hair looks Crazy. and both of them look happy but that thing on her hard is not close to her Hard. and I think she is saying in her hard I think he looks scary to me she Said. and I think he is thinking wrong to his soth and he just keep doing it and she is going to turn Crazy. like him and he will be crazy like Her.

His name is jack he lives in the trees and hes gots big Eyes. and its very scary and it looks like a monster very big hands and it haves a small nose and he has a big Head. and it can jump very high On to the tree and the eyes a colorful and jacks got fik skin and hes got long legs and Hands. and he has a small mouth and he has soft Skin. and it has no ears and it looks big and it is very big when its on the Tree.   

Prompt Practise 2

On a sunny afternoon we went to the beach, it was very sunny and then their was lots of people at the Beach. We went to the water and we went on the big waves then we saw some people sleeping on their chairs. Some people were playing in the waves, but some were on their chairs, it was very hot and sunny. After that someone was on the wave trying to get out but he got lost. The people rain out and tried to save him but they couldn't save him. After that they had to jump out of the water so they went and took him to the hospital and they put him on a bed.

Kids for Kids Rehearsal

On Friday we had kids for kids at Mangere. we went on the bus to go to the kids for kids, it was so fun. it got hot on the stage then and we sat on the ground and we sang 20 songs on the stage. We all had fun at the kids for kids and we did some actions and we were copying Nathan and Jackie. We then we came back home and we had a treat of an ice-block. 

Filming Reflection

We filmed our class doing different things to show how to be successful. First we did our goals, after that we did typing fast fingers and we did basic facts. We did running and we did achieving goals. We were in groups of 4, first we did our planning then we went to film our movie outside.  My group worked well together and our Director edited our part of the movie with Miss G.

Rugby League Reflection

Today we had rugby league. We all went at the field and played. First we did laps then passes. After that we did octopus and at the end we did stepping and star jumps. We have to remember to work as a team.

Maths Reflection

Today in maths we were looking at fractions. First we did Xtra maths to warm up our brains then we went on the mat and did our fractions with Miss G. We had look at different circles cut into fractions and read and write them. I am on stage 2 for fractions and my group is called the Super Squares.

St Pius X

St Pius X was born on June 2 of 1835. He grew up in Italy. He had 8 brothers and sisters. St Pius X real name Joseph Santo. St Pius X  became a priest, then became a bishop and a cardinal and finished as a pope. He wanted everyone to get the Eucharist and help the poor people.

X-country

Yesterday we had Cross Country and we all got tired from running, it was fun. The seniors had to run two times around the course and some people got very tired. Some people came 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

We started at the school and Miss G said “on your marks, get set, go” then we all jogged and some people ran fast. It was Tuesday the 13th of august and it was a hot day and we all had fun, what an amazing time.

The Assumption

The Assumption of Mary is on the 15th of August. We celebrate Mary's heavenly birthday. Mary was at Jesus death, but he wasn’t at her. Mary went to heaven and she was the Queen of heaven.

Being Hygienic at School

How can you be Hygienic at School?

Runny Nose	We blow our nose into a tissue and throw the tissue in the rubbish.
Coughing	you use your elbow and use a tissue .
Vomiting	clean up the mess and use a bowl.
Going to the toilet	wash your hands after the toilet.
Keeping environment clean	by not leaving your lunch wraps.
Sweating	when you sweat you need to use your rolen.
Uniform	when your uniform semwal you need to wash it.
Equipment	and make sure you wash your hands before you go on the netbook.

Crackles

The story is about the girl who gave food to the dragon he was kind and help full and he loved eating pancakes and eating burglars on a Thursday and he went bake home and the girl was on top of the dragon and they saw the bad people the was going to eat them but they ran away to home the end. Miss G was Away

Miss G went to Melbourne to learn how to make St Pius x to a modern school. Some other schools are different from our school and Miss G and Mrs Tui and some other people from different schools went to check them out. The other schools that went with them were from Tamaki collage, Point England, Stonefields, St Patrick's and Panmure bridge.

Teddy Bear

Meet the bear, he has big feet and black eyes and he is nice.  He is short and he has two feet and two hands. He is fat and he has big ears and a round nose. His skin is brown and his name is Fuzzy.

Fuzzy is soft and handsome and he likes to eat chocolate.  He is small and a nice, happy teddy bear.

He is cool and fun to play with, he is so cuddly.

Spirit of Truth

We have been learning about being the Spirit of Truth and being a good role model out in the playground.  Here is the movie my group and I made about doing exactly that.

Catholic Schools day.

Yesterday  we had a mass and St Joseph’s came to our school. We went to the church then St Joseph’s came to our classroom and had some lunch. It was play time and we had some fun playing  with the St Joseph’s kids. We played running and we played at the big park, it was fun on the park. When the bell rang we lined up and went to the hall for a concert. It was a very fun day.  

Maths Reflection

I am good at maths and good at running. Maths helps me with my leaning and some times it is kind of easy and it kind can be hard too. I know my numbers help me with my subtraction and I go on to Math Whizz and I like to go on to math whizz it helps me and my school mates and we love Math Whizz  is a good math activity because it helps people with their learning just like me. 
In Addition and Subtraction I am on Stage 2.

My Mother

 
My mum has black hair and she looks after me and my brothers and she is are good mother. I love my mum.

My mum has black eyes and a big smile on her face. She likes to be happy and she has tanned skin and she looks after me. She’s a good cook, and I love her cooking. And she helps me with my homework.  

She likes to spend time with my brothers and she works at the rest home.I love her and she's working hard for my family I call her my super mum.When she comes home I run up to her giving a big hug.I love you Mum you're the best have a good day.

Mary and Joseph's Journey

Mary and Joseph walked a long way before Jesus was born. They walked for 24.7km which takes armoured 5 hours and 13 minutes.

Blackbird's Nest

In reading this week we read the story 'Blackbird's Nest'.  We were looking at understanding the authors message when reading.  We decided to create a movie to share the story with others in the world.  This is our first ever movie.
